every year at christmas time, i have the wonderful privilege of having 2 weeks off! i love it! usually, the first week i am off, hannah is still in day care so i am able to get lots of stuff done before christmas. last minute shopping, wrapping, cleaning and organizing my house before total chaos hits, stuff like that. this year, though, hannah decided to get sick. we figured out later that it was just her congestion causing her to get nauseous and throw up every time we got in the car, but i didn't know that at first.
this could be the reason she is naked in this picture, but i am not sure :)
too cute not to post, though!
so, anyway, since we thought she was sick, we kinda stuck around the house, in our jammies for a few days, doing nothing but fun stuff, like painting. hannah LOVES to paint!
the week before christmas, we even went to a really cool place and hannah was able to pick out anything she wanted to paint just for her daddy to give him for christmas. she thought this was the greatest thing ever!
christmas eve morning we were at cody's parents to have christmas with his side. thankfully, this was the first day after several days of no puking. think she feels better? :) she has started doing this thing where when she winks at you, she also clicks her tongue. i think this might be what she is doing here. really is the cutest thing ever, but not sure where she learned it!
for some reason, i get in trouble every time hannah gives her daddy this look. he says he gets that look from me all the time as well. no idea what he is talking about :)
this was christmas morning, and first thing hannah noticed was that the paper on this huge box was different than what i had wrapped everything else in. when i told her it was from santa, i am not so sure she loved that idea. we were not allowed to let santa in the house to bring her presents in this year. hannah made me "call" him and tell him he had to leave everything on the front porch and then mommy and daddy would bring them in. she was terrified of the thought of a strange man coming in her home in the middle of the night. should a 3 year old have that kind of thinking already??
when she finally tore the paper off this box, though, she was so excited that it was a trampoline that santa had brought! all the doubt was forgotten!
santa also brought her this scooter. obviously it was a hit!
this gift i was very unsure about. it is the cutest little super hero cape! i saw it and thought she just had to have it! she always says she is my super helper, so i decided she needed a super "helper" cape!
my only concern with this is she may eventually think she can "fly" off the couch!!
later on christmas day, we went to my mom's, and for some reason this is the only picture i took of her that was worth a darn!
that night, we went to my dad's, and again, for some reason, there are not many good pictures of just her! but, she was so happy to get a shopping cart from them! and the best part of it is, there is a place for her baby in the front, which is very important!
the morning after christmas, hannah was so happy we had no where to go. she didn't change out of her jammies until after nap time that afternoon! she and daddy had an hour and a half long tea party with all of her baby dolls while i was gone for a while! i have a feeling there are LOTS of tea parties in our future! good thing daddy is a good sport!
the trampoline was definitely a hit, and once daddy got it set up a few days after christmas, that's the only thing hannah has wanted to do! it's been great exercise for me...hannah thinks the best way to play on it is for her to sit and let me jump and bounce her! i am exhausted by the time we go in, but it's good for me!!
we really had a wonderful christmas. it was great to get some time off and just hang out with hannah and our families. i am excited to start a new year and see what is in store for us!
