ok, so i finally uploaded pictures off my camera from the weekend so i can tell about it! you can't tell about a trip to the zoo without pictures:)
friday i took off work to take hannah to the zoo. she has been asking for a couple of weeks to go back, so i just finally decided to take a day to take her. i thought if we went during the week maybe it wouldn't be so crowded. but, i think it picked oklahoma field trip to the zoo day or something. there were so many schools there, but we went in anyway since we were there. we went straight to the sea lion show first because i wanted hannah to see it. we always seem to miss it by just a few minutes, but not this time.
i think i actually enjoyed the show more than hannah did. she was definitely more interested in watching all of the other kids around us. i think she just wanted to make new friends!
we walked all over the zoo, and then on our way out i wanted to let her play in the new children's area if she wanted to. last time we went it was too cold for them to have the water running or any of the birds out. friday was perfect, though, and hannah thought she needed to pet EVERY goat that was there. and, if you don't know hannah well, i have to tell you she is normally TERRIFIED of anything that moves. it took her forever to even like our wonderfully-tempered lab. and now he is the only animal she will have anything to do with. but for some reason, she was ok with the goats this time. and so ok with them, that she couldn't leave any of them out from getting pet by her.
then we went over to the stream with running water and the "splash pad" there in the children's zoo. i didn't even realize these were there last time since the water wasn't on. but what a fun thing for the kids! hannah was tired and hot and ready to go home, but this seemed to refresh her. needless to say, she was soaked by the time we left and had to change clothes before the ride home:)
obviously, we had such a great mommy/daughter day. i just wish i had taken a couple of the two of us together! here she is when we pulled into our driveway:
tired and out!!
we actually spent the entire rest of the weekend outside. we helped a friend with a garage sale after our fabulous family pictures on saturday. then on sunday we spent the afternoon at the park with wonderful friends. life is good!
i do have to admit my new addiction: french vanilla coffee creamer. i know it doesn't sound like much, but oh.my.word. i have always just been a black coffee drinker. never been big on sweeteners or flavors in my coffee. i like the good, strong starbucks coffee...black and strong. but, my spoiled self is trying to cut out costs where i can so i have started drinking folgers. i do like folgers, i am just spoiled and like my starbucks better, even if i did just brew it at home. but, i decided to try great value, no sugar added, french vanilla powder creamer. i'm addicted! and, it's not ruining my diet either, which makes it even more fantastic:)
hope everyone is having a wonderful day! i am going to get off work soon and go enjoy this beautiful weather!
